Celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day and
help the House, too!
Instead of giving flowers that fade or neckties that are
never worn, why not honor the Moms and Dads in your life while at the same time helping
the families who depend on the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey? For a contribution
of $20, we will honor your loved one for Mother's Day (May 10, 2009) or Father's Day (June
21, 2009) by sending them a card notifying them of your kindness. You can
participate in the program by indicating "Mother's Day" or "Father's
Day" in the memo of your check and including the name and address of the person you
are honoring. You can also pay by credit card using our secure server by simply
clicking on the link below. Please contact Amy Leonard at 717-533-4001 ext. 247 or
at amy.leonard@ronaldshousehershey.org
if you have any questions.

"Room to Grow" at the Ronald McDonald House
Due to high occupancy and frequent wait lists at the
House, the Board of Directors of RMHC of Central PA has announced plans for a 15 bedroom
expansion of the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey. With the recent announcement that
a free standing children's hospital will be built on the Hershey Medical Center campus,
this project is all the more timely and necessary. The building project will also
include a much needed increase in common area rooms--a second kitchen and dining room,
playroom, computer room, office space, and much more. The cost of the project is
$4.5 million. Please contact Kathy Denton (717-533-4001) or email kathydenton@comcast.net
(RMHC Executive Director) for more information on this exciting venture!

Lancaster County Friends Raise Major Support For the House
On
a cloudy May morning, hundreds of volunteers from the Lancaster area helped to make the
1st Lancaster County Auction a huge success for the Capital Campaign with $10l,000 raised
for the expansion project at the House. But the weather couldn't dampen the spirits
of the many volunteers and participants who enjoyed this special day. Delicious
food, quilts, sheds, and many other items were sold and auctioned off to benefit the
Hershey House. We are most grateful to everyone involved with this amazing event!

Food Check Out Day February 10, 2009
Part
of a nationwide effort, Food Check Out Day celebrates the day when the average American
family has earned enough money to pay for their annual food supply. Pennsylvania
area farmers unloaded a wagon piled high with food and also donated $13,798 to
Hersheys Ronald McDonald House. The food will help feed families all through
the year.

Fiesta in the Moonlight
The 7th Annual Moonlight Gala drew over 200 guests who gathered
in support of RMHC of Central PA. Performances by Mariachi Los Halcones and the One
Broadway Dancers added to the festivities and former House guest Christopher Gurreri
shared the story of his little brother, Jacob. Great food, a Capital Campaign
update, the silent auction and dancing rounded out the exciting evening at the Sheraton
Harrisburg/Hershey.

Local Firefighters Grill for the House
Swatara Township Volunteer Fire Company (Oberlin PA) recently
held a chicken BBQ to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey. They came to the
House by fire truck and presented a check for $900 to RMHC of Central PA Executive
Director Kathy Denton. After the presentation, three very excited little boys (who
just happened to be House guests) were treated to a tour of the truck by the firefighters.
Thanks so much for your generous support!

"Room To Grow" Capital Campaign
Kickoff
On a beautiful September afternoon, over 100 donors,
guests, and volunteers gathered at the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey to take part in
the official kickoff of the Capital Campaign. $3.3 million of the $4.5 million
campaign has already been pledged. We are in need of the final $1.2 million to meet
our goal before ground breaking in the spring of 2009. Please consider how you can
personally support this much needed expansion project.
